i think the hydraulic clutch is easier to install and not as hard of a pedtal and no burning the clutch cable on the exhaust
    i used the cnc ones

thanks for the PM, very helpful, I'm gonna post it here if that's cool with you.
Also, how did you figure out the clutch linkage, I need to still decide on the the hydrolic vs cable.

correction. . . ethanol, not nitrous! I know, I keep changing my mind but think I'm sticking with this combo this time . . . unless I change my mind. :drive:

mo's car is going to be a street car. he may make it to the track but i dont think that he will be on slicks. ive advised him to use a stock replacement clutch so it wont be able to shock load the trans enough to brake it. that is what i did on my fox mustang that was running low 12s on the t-5. i belive that mo will have no problems with brakeing a t-5, unless he gets pretty hard core about drag racing, wich i can see him doing. but we will deal with that when it happens.

I appreciate the advice and I'm sure you're saying that to keep me from wasting time and money. You know, what I was envisioning for the mav was so different until I met Bryant. It's great talking to him, it's just so many options out there which is why I have changed my ideas around a lot. I'm still learning a lot and so I think I'm gonna change my mind a few more times till I find the perfect thing. But I don't really go buying something before I decide for sure (only mistake was those pistons which I bought for a higher compression 331, anyone interested?)

this is the break-down by 302-72-mav:
    t5 trans and bell-housing

87-93 mustang clutch/pressure plate throw out barring pilotshaft barring and flywheel can get it as kit on ebay for cheap i got the f1 stage 3 center force one and it works great

157 tooth flywheel with 28 or 50 oz counter balance weight depends on what year motor u have ?

    the clutch pedtal

i made a (trans brace) with the stock one and some extra steel

i wanted to shorten my driveline because it was kinda close so after 4 months of driveing it just decided to get it shortened 1 inch cost 60 buck's

    i think thats it

and i used the same starter

there is a bunch of pics of it here

I think this T5 thing might actually happen. Several reason why I want to do it. I have never owned a stick shift car. Back when I lived in LA it would have been tough commuting with a stick shift. Here in San Diego it's not bad at all. I want to be able to run lower RPM on the freeway and still have the option of switching to lower gears later if I decide to do so before going to the track.

Gonna start collecting parts once I have money again. Picked up extra shifts for december and january. :)
