I havent forgotten about the forum, just been waiting on my block!

Got the call from the machine shop and headed there to drop off first half of the payment. Picking it up hopefully around the 15th.

Had a crack in the #1 cylinder and ovaling in the rest, so had the #1 sleeved, and the rest bored .30 over. Got a new set of sealed power pistons and cant wait to get it home

Here is the marine 302 with headers on it. Had to take them off to get it in the Maverick, and not able to use them. Hell I can barely fit the stock manifolds in.

I will post some more, and upload recent pictures this evening.

I have a set of 6901s. They didn't work for me with gt40p heads. Sanderson headers did. Cool 4 door maverick. That's a rare thing

    Thanks!
I think they are rare to see as well. My favorite part of the 4d is the shoulder where the roof meets the body, it's more pronounced looking on a 4d vs a grabber.

I was looking at some different posts here, and apparently there is a set of modular long tube headers that hooker makes. I'm guessing makes it easier to fit in. Like 2 or 3 sections of tube can be removed, header install, then place the tubes back in.

If I had a 4-door Maverick, I'd make it look better than any 4-door that I've ever seen here or anywhere else. Not bragging; just expressing my thoughts.
It would be a tasteful resto-mod, real clean, and would not look like something from a cartoon.
I would shave the handles on the rear doors. Tuck the front bumper ('73-'77 models). 15-inch wheels (not 18s or 20s). Maybe Holley Sniper fuel injection.
No vinyl top. No bumper guards. No Grabber hood. No stripes or decals. Black-out the tail light panel. Black headlight bezels (I hate silver-gray bezels). Bucket seats. Leather wrapped '75-'77 steering wheel. A whole bunch of other stuff, but I'm not trying to write a novel here.

Craig Selvey has a nice-looking 4-door Maverick that he restored.

Oh, and no car after 1954 should ever be chopped, and no truck from any year should ever be chopped...

In my opinion "this" is about as good as a 4d Maverick has ever looked.

This is the 4d Maverick that inspired me to start working on mine. This is what I want my Maverick to get to eventually. I'm a little not sold on the top chop, but it does turn it up a notch I tell ya.

The body kit bumper I have in my profile, and the idea post was just me messing around, I'd never actually do that.

Nonsense. That chopped top looks hideous. There are other aspects of that car that look pretty good, but hardly "as good as it gets"...

If I saw that chop top at a cruise in or car show, I would be making a bee line to it to check it out. I wonder how many inches were taken out, and if you took out a little less? What if you took the longer 4dr and converted it to a 2dr with two door doors and moved the post back, and left the top alone? that would really make peeps scratch their heads. Lol...maybe I been watching too much YouTube.

If I had the skills, I'd make a wagon out of a more-door car. Merge my two favorite cars - Maverick and station wagon!
