it appears that the rear bumper brackets for a 69-70 mustang resemble the brackets for the 70-72 maverick. does anyone know if the mustang brackets will work for the maverick?
does this mean the triangular side bracket off a 73 would be able to be replaced with the mustang brackets?
Sorry to revive this old thread. But is it true that Mustang brackets will work for a rear small bumper swap? More specifically... we've got a '72 rear bumper that we're going to put on a '74 Comet. Here's the reference that many here have used for the swap... http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/maverick_4.html So... would either pair of the brackets below work for us??? https://www.cjponyparts.com/rear-bumper-bracket-1969-1970/p/BBR3/ https://www.cjponyparts.com/dynacorn-bumper-bracket-rear-1969-1970/p/M3578/ Also, would this inner trunk bracket work? https://www.cjponyparts.com/inner-trunk-bracket-1969-1970/p/M398/ I just want to be absolutely sure before I pull the plug and buy the parts. Thanks in advance!!
The 69 - 70 inner trunk bracket is what I used on my 75 Mav, no problems. I do not know about using the bumper brackets themselves. You may be able to rig them, but I do not think they will be a perfect fit to the bumper. However they will certainly bolt up to the trunk brackets.
