Mavericks are fun old cars and about the cheapest classic car you will find. They are very simple and easy to work on. Parts are dirt cheap if you are patient and look in the right place. You do gotta remember this is a 30+ year old car, and driving it daily, you will have problems with it. But it's extreamly rare you have a problem that will keep you from being able to drive the car. Just keep up on the maintainance and it will run forever...

Values have basically doubled ( going "by the book") since I bought my Comet in '97 thats based on the last time I saw and " Old Car Price Guide" and thats quite awhile ago that I saw one. But my Grandpa used to say, "has someone offered you that much? " until someone has cash for you its all academic. No one can deny the collectible value is there and can only go up in the future.

Thanks everyone, I plan to meet the guy somewhere so we can look over eachothers cars tonight. I will make sure i take some pictures to post.

He also said he would throw in some V8 motor mounts so if i ever got the money to transplant a V8 into it i could.

As for the bronco, I live in a major city (portland, Oregon), and we rarely see snow... and when we do it doesnt stick for more then a day or two. I like the idea of having a 4wd to offroad in my spare time... But the truck is getting to expensive to keep around. When i bought it the previous owner said it had "virtually no problems" besides a leaky rear end. I let a emchanic look it over and he said it acctually had 2 leaks (1 front, 1 back) and a transmission that would be going out within a year.

About 2 weeks after i bought it, the back door (wich needs power to roll the window down to open or close) lost all power. after haveing my brother tear the door apart and look at it we thought the motor went out and bought 2 new ones. Well, that wasnt it, and to this day its still not fixed and presumed to be shotty wireing on the previous owners part. When we took out the radio to put in a new one, we noticed all the wireing was bunched together and held together with Yellow tape (no connectors). The previous owner also installed a Horribly annoying Push Button Ignition... Which SOUNDS like a good idea, but he did it where you have to turn the key and push the button at the same time to start it...which is a hassle.

And to add to all that, recently the battery in the truck drains over night so we have to unhook it so it stays charged. and we assume that has to do with the shotty wireing on the previous owners part.

Alot of this stuff would be pretty easy to fix, but im not a very mechanical person. I want to be a mechanic in the future, but I really dont know much about fixing cars.hahaha.

Anyways, sorry for the long read. I will repost when i have pictures.:)
