I appreciate the call as well, and General is down to 2 springs for everyone else.

I would be in on a group buy from Joe at General Spring if anyone else is interested. He said we need a 12 spring order (6 pair) for the price break. Lead time is 4 - 6 weeks and the are Made in the USA.

well its good that eaton detroit spring makes the springs for our cars. i do see people complaining about the price. no offense to anyone, but your being cheap at least the springs made by them are MADE IN THE USA unlike others i know when i ready for new ones ill glady give them my business and keep america up and running.

I wondered this same thing about JRS springs, but from what I gathered on the phone with JRS yesterday is that their springs were also made in the USA. Doesn't matter either way I guess - because they don't have any right now.

    72CometGT has it right:

:hmmm: When I was a Scheduler for starter engines at HAFB, our toobing shop made hydralic & fule lines and could local manufacture all our own, but one or two and only because they didn’t have the equipment. Dig this they also made them for other aircraft related companies and when we were out we’d do a buy back from them for at least 3 or 5 times the cost. On other stuff from other companies one big boss told me that’s cheap most places soak us for 10-15 times the cost. What surprised me was Honeywell seems to be the parent company of any power plant related item fuel pumps, oil pumps, load, valves, etc for A/C. it seemed to me they also controlled engine high performance auto parts, i found out when dealing with them. sorry caps it got stuck.

That’s the problem, JRS doesn't make the springs, and they get them from the manufacturer. Sure are a lot of middlemen taking a slice before we get the springs.

That was one of the questions I asked Joe from General Spring. He confirmed that his are Made in the USA.

I bought 2 from his first batch, the ones that were supposed to be in in 3 weeks. As for the group buy I guess mid-June correct.

I believe his springs come from JRS, which are no longer available.

i ordered mine at www.thesuspensionking.com, who claims to make them himself from the old ford patterns!

i finally received the springs. they're marked "JRS" so it turns out that the shop isn't so special. i think he was just lucky to have some still in stock. but telling me that he makes the springs himself from the old patterns was just plain false advertising...
