Now that could get expensive, hmmm...maybe if your Mavs come with you. Ken I've been on the hunt for almost a year, drove alot of miles to look at prospects only to be disappointed, that's one of the reasons she doesn't know about the car, she wasn't gonna be disappointed again.
lets see...150,000 in 4 years, that's 37500 a year and about 3125 each month, that's more than double the national average for driving. you must do nothing but drive around and burn gas or at least it seems that way by your description, when do you sleep or go to school or work? it seems like alot of seat time
I remember telling myself I'd never paint another one, BUT this is a project she and I will do together, translation; she preps, I paint
Ain't it funny how you will change your mind about doing something when the kids are involved? Thats why I'm glad my youngest son is into cars, keeps him away from the drugs and things, although sometimes I get aggravated when he drags home another project.....
Ya think this gal is happy? She knows her Mavericks too, she saw the ignition on the dash and said ...Wow! a 69 1/2...cool, she wouldn't have been happier if it was a 2005 stang
Man that's great Rick!! Glad that both of you are happy with the Maverick!! Congrats and thanks for passing the torch.........'er the maverick bug that is!! Tell her to have fun driving it and be safe!!! Preston
That was a rough estimate. I have driven to Rockford, Illinois and back 2-3 times a year for 4 years now. That is an easy 2,000 mile round trip. In 2004, I drove to Indianapolis and back on almost a monthly basis when my grandpa was in getting in very bad health. We went up there 2 times a month, 4 months in a row right before my grandpa died. I drove every time, both ways. I go to North Carolina several times a month to help out my other grandpa, that can easily average well over 300 miles round trip, several times a month... This is not adding in the past 4 summers, spring breaks, and winter breaks I have spent driving my grandpa around Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennesee, and the occasional trip to Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois going to various Auctions and Flea Markets to buy antiuques and stuff for his Flea Market. I take my grandpa to South Carolina, Georiga, Alabama and Tennessee on a weekly basis in the summers. Me and my grandpa are like best friends and I have always gone with him everywhere he goes. When I got my learners, that meant driving for him also. We can easily average over 600 miles a week in the summer time. My grandpa bought 2002 F150 in December of 2003 with 20,000 miles on it. He traded it in this past July with 86,000 on it. His new truck has 16,000 on it since July, although he's been trying to go easy on it since it dosen't get quite as good gas mileage with the 5.4. We're still not counting the 1,000+ miles I drive a month just going various everyday places. I only drive the Maverick about half the time and have put 11,000 miles on it since I got it street legal on April 25th, 2005. I put over 100 miles a week on it just takeing people to school in the mornings. My mom's 2002 Taurus had 6 miles on it when we bought it new in May of 2002. I drive it most of the time when I have somewhere far to go. It now has 130,000 on it, give or take a few. I go to school 3 periods a day and can make up any work I need to if I'm absent because of my IEP. I didn't start working until this past summer which just added more to my tottal because I was then driving back and forth to NC and back to drive my grandpa around and then comeing back home for the week to work. Everything I do, everywhere I go involves driving. Now if you really want to start talking mileage, we'll talk about my uncle who works in Chamblee and lives in NC and drives 230 miles round trip back and forth to work 5 days a week. When hes not doing that, hes makeing trips all over the U.S. to install skylights for the company he works for. He has 215,000 on his 2001 F150 Sport. He goes through vehicals like they are nothing. He's had 3 trucks and 4 cars since 1993. Or my dad who put over 500,000 on an '84 Mustang GT in 12 years. Sorry for getting off on your thread Rick. Your daughter single? Wait, never mind that question, I want to live a little longer. Glad she likes the Mav. Shes very lucky to have one like that, hope she treats it well.
Hey Rick I believe that smile is bigger than the one she had when you took her down the strip at the round-up. Enjoy Tim
Rick, Having meet you and your daughter at the round up and getting to know you just a tiny bit their. It doesn't surprise me that she is a chip off the old block. She looks happier than a pig in poo...... That's awesome and I if I can ever get my wife pregnantangry: ) I hope my son/daughter is into mavs.
