Hey bob, it's been a long time (sold you that 73 mustang front end a long time ago) I'm a slight possibility, I'll keep you updated.
I sure hope the directions are good. I use 'em to get home a lot. Ok, Ok once in a while. Howz 4M sound to you? 3 is cool too. Just lemme know what time works. I live there so the drive aint to bad for me.
Based on the number of people we are expecting, just bring your own beverage. Burgers and stuff will be on me.
Bad News guys, The General is sending me to Vegas to work the weekend of the Ford show. I will have to cancel the BBQ.
That means you won't be at the show either? Bummer! Was looking forward to meeting you...I don't get down that way very often.
I'm with you Cliff....Anybody in LA have any ideas, as to where to meet & chat. Maybe even a bite to eat. How about a local drive-in restaurant?
ok i know of a few places 1. Legends Diner - good parking if not packed. food is ok. it is sit down but its more like a take out place like a carl jr or jack in the box. not much group sitting but we can all sit outside and talk there is room. 2. Hooters personally i can't stand their food. they have decent parking but i'm sure all of you have been to one so i'm sure its not on your 1# list. unless you wanna see dingy chicks which i'm so over seeing hot or not. 3. http://www.friscos.com/main.htm don't mind the really bad website. its a sit down style restaurant with car hop girls. food is ok but probably the best out of the two above. parking ain't great cuz its shared with other restruants and a home depot but you can find parking. 4. Bob's Big Boys (as seen in Hot Rod Magazine many times) here is a clip from a artical back in 2004.. "In Burbank on the border of Toluca Lake, is Bob's Big Boy Restaurant where you can get their famous double-decker hamburger, a salad and cherry coke for under $10. It is retro on the weekend when you can drive behind the restaurant on Friday nights to watch the sights of the gathering of Classic Cars. On Saturdays and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. there is car hop service under their awnings where you can imagine you are back in the 1960's when car hop service was the hot thing to do with your date on the weekend. Bob's is close to several studios such as NBC, Walt Disney, Warner Bros and The Burbank Studios so studio folks often eat at Bob's. Get the details and location of Bob's Big Boy in Burbank " They still do this but i'm not to sure if they have the gathering still on every weekend.. hotrodbob maybe you know? But then again parking will be a you know what! and we are already going to a car show the next day so to me, no need to see more cars. We probably won't beable to get a seat either with so many people. anyways those are the places i'm thinking of. i will make the final decision but would like to hear some input anyways.
I'd vote for the Bob's Big boy, but I wont be there. I'm in frozen Boston right now. This is torture for a So.Cal. guy. Fridays at Bob's is their cruz night. Saturdays they have car hop service. We have done a Falcon Club Cruz at Bob's the night before the Ford show. I can contact them and see if they want to set that up again. I wanted to meet more of the guys from this site as well. Sorry that it wont happen this time. There has been some talk about a Reno run in June. I'll be there the week before. Not sure if I can stand driving there twice in a month, but it's an option.
I'm kinda leaning toward Bob's also. Having never been to anything like that..I would think it would be pretty cool! Of course it probably depends on how tired we are when we arrive as to how much enjoyment we can derive from the experiance..but I think something like that could perhaps perk me up!
Where are you guys staying? It's about 30 miles from Burbank to Buena Park and will probably take about 35 minutes if there's no LA traffic. I may not be able to make it, but I'm gonna try.
Bobs big boy sounds good to me. hey bob, if you make it up for reno i can try and plan a get together for one of the meals, probably sat would be best?
