I have never seen one of those scoops installed. How much of the covered surface area is removed for air flow? I would think not more than a hole a little bigger than the carb or air-cleaner, otherwise ,wouldn't the hood get too flimsy?
Actually, it's a sizeable area. There is a 1" lip on the back of the scoop to help keep the hood rigid and to prevent the cowl from collapsing on itself at 120mph+ (hopefully). I'll post pictures later today. The guy is coming out to trim the cowl where it meets the windshield and to cut out the hole (rectangular area) to allow the air to escape out of the engine bay.
