large gas tank install

    got the tank in last night (y) .
    i had the tank out of chris' '73 in my '77.
    i will fill it up today and see how much it will hold. i think the book said 19.2 gals. i put 5 gals. in last night and have 3 miles to the station.
    when i pulled the filler neck there was a hole in it. it looked like it has been there from the factory. it was where they welded the piece inside the neck. the weld blew a hole all the way through. every time the car took off it leaked gas into the trunk.:eek: ...frank...

    p.s. dennis, thanks for the tank, it was like new on the inside (y). i put por 15 on the outside.

    i put 5 gals.in when i put the tank in, went 3 miles to the station and put 15.6 gals. in. i stopped it when it kicked off.:eek: i will check it again when we go to the swap meet this weekend...frank...

    Nope. The 70 is a drop in tank and unique to that year only.
