This is a view of the tranny x-member (note 6-cyl member being used - long story).

I'm so confused now, I'm not even sure I have the actual MOTOR SUPPORTS on right.

F.Y.I. so I only appear to be half stoopid, I bought the car without a motor, tranny, motor mounts or supports. In fact the previous owner had a old 289 (different mounting) in it with mounts welded in a 'conveinient' location (anywhere).

Which side does the "LONG" part of the support go to?

Any help in determining the correct installation locations of the supports and mounts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rick

I can't see the radiator support in that last picture Rick, that's the frame crossmember. The radiator sits between the frame crossmember and the core support, and does not touch the crossmember. My Griffin actually sets down between the frame rails in the same location, I still have to make brackets to keep it isolated from the rails, as it has to sit lower than the stock radiator to clear the hood because it is wider.

Your frame mounts look to be installed correctly. Since your tranny xmember is lined up correctly, I would say the motor is in the right place. I haven't looked closely at my motor mounts, I didn't realize there was a long side and a short side. I have a new pair in boxes at home, I'll see if it says anything on them when I get home.

LOL, Matt. That's the only thing I could think of for the "R".

Okay, I should've posted that I took the radiator support out,
and was talking about the frame cross member instead ( :slap: )
as the cross member is going to be the basis for my radiator support
(removed to allow the engine and tranny to be removed/installed together).

RE: Yours sits between cross-member and core support:
My problem with that is that the location of the outlet is
right in line with the frame itself. The outlet has to be higher
or located more towards the center in order for it to work.

If I locate the radiator too far forward, the bottom of the
radiator interferes with the gravel pan (underneath bumper).

Man, I'd love a picture or two and a few measurements like
overall dims of radiator, measurements from common points,
routing of hoses, etc. Remember this is a late model engine
and water pump (reverse rotation of early models - I think).

I'd like to get this part taken care of soon. I'm starting to
    get worn out on it.

    Thanks!

    Rick

Pic of Fox Mustang Aftermarket radiator in '70 Maverick
(Radiator support frame removed to allow easier removal of
    motor and tranny together).

Had to run the outlet hose through the frame passed the frame cross-member
then back into engine bay (like I'd planned earlier).

Bottom line - it WILL fit.

(Note: Grille support from backside of Maverick Emblem to Gravel Pan)
