    Defiantly! I am thinkin a nice set of 345-365/60/17 (rear) and 275/60/16 (front) (or atleast something similar :) ) would be enough :bananaman

    Very nice! What size tires/rims on the falcon rear?

    So, where would you get 365/60/17 tires...............guess I'm out of the loop, but it sounds like you are going to have to do a full tub, not just a mini tub to fit tires over 14" wide and not have them sticking outside the body.
    Look at the difference in a 275x60x16 and a 275x50x17..........I would think the 50's would give you more space to work with being an inch less in diameter and still have the same section width...............and that way you would be able to use 17" in the front also.........just a thought.
    Also, unless you drifting around corners this will make setting up the chassis for "corner carving" much more difficult having and extra 6" of rubber out back..................just a thought.

    Love those round body falcons,I believe you can turn them into one of the prettiest cars Ford EVER MADE,hands down.

    Nice....what are the fronts on the Falcon and the Maverick? That's my plan is the ol' school look of Centerlines along with skinny's on front!

    This is what my tub looks like for my 31x13x15 MT's with 15x12" wheel, and the wheel has a 6 or 6-1/2 negative offset..............of course this work was done 35 years ago and the tubs are steel, not aluminum.............but the size of tub will have to be at least this big...........IMHO

    Being as I am not going to have the tubs and big fat rear tires, I kind of like to just call my car a Street Rod :yup:

    My Maverick has 29/12.50x15 rears on 11" wheels. They stick out. 1970 Pro Stock rules allowed 2" outside the body and that's what I have. No mini tubs, no frame mods, no springs moved. The wheel well is maxed out at that point (and then some). The front and back edges of the wheel opening are also needing some pie cuts to move them away from the tire.

    My Falcon front wheels are 15x5 Centerlines with 26/7.50x15 M/T Sportsman tires. I had them lying around but want to go to a 15x3.5 on the front.

    The Maverick currently has 15x4 Fenton R/T wheels with 28/7.50x15 M/T Sportsman tires. The front wheels will be switched out to 15x3.5 Fenton Gyro wheels (to match the back) when it's done.

    I do have a spare set of 15x14 and 15x3.5 Weld Zero Drag (look like the Centerline Auto Drags I have on the Falcon). Wheels are new, backs bolted on to check clearance and he bought the wrong wheels so sold them to me. Fronts have old skinny tires on them that are dry rotted, never bolted on. They have Chevy pattern. For sale. Might use them on the Falcon since my hubs have Ford and Chevy pattern drilled in them.

    With the tire size you are looking at, you are more Pro Touring with that fat front tire. Also, going to the 16 or 17" wheels is a Pro Touring deal.

    Pro Stock is big back, skinny front, too much engine, straight line cars. Pro Touring is big tires all the way around, plenty of power and corner carving.

    I will get some more pictuers posted to catch up to where I am at now.


    Tonight, i finished (kinda) the mock up of cardboard (another cut out) of the firewall, but I cannot install the firewall until I get to the point of caging the car. A few more things to do before that point.

    So, I started on the "chassis" project I am going to go ahead and do. I have been wrapping my brain the last few nights staying up stairing at a black wall (in bed) wondering how I can do what I am thinkin in my head.

    I removed 5" of sound deadening from the driver side interior "wall" that is vertical , and begun the mark 4" from the vertical point with soap stone.

    I also drilled a few holes for the skill saw to slip in and begin the cutting process -- need to get some blades first thing in the morning.

    Also drilled a few holes into the top of the rear "torque box" to see if it would work how I envisioned it would and to my surprise it will. The lip is exactly 2" which is nice because then I can butt the metal up to it and weld in the valley. I would also have to put square stock piece with a 20 degree decline and it will mount perfectly.

    Tomorrow hopefully I can grab some 2x3 .083 wall stock and start the process with a few tack welds. Would like to brace the entire car up before I tear out the floor pan.

    you can see the little piece of cardboard I cut out that has the 20 degree decline to it.

    The two drill holes mark where the rear torque box ends so I can be sure not to cut into it :)

    Looks really good and bracing the body makes a sense.
    Here is a picture of mine, somewhat similar........and ties into the front spring perch and hoop for the drive line.

    Got the floor piece cut out that was marked with soap stone, just cleaning up the spot welds, the angle I am at I cannot cut them out fully so I got the saw butt to the metal and using a grinder to grind away the spot welds. PITA but its coming out nicely. need to set the car on some wood boards a bit before I continue.

    Ill post some pictures here in a little while.

    Got the floor sectioned it out, and removing all the damn spot welds. I cannot get the right angle with the spot weld remover because of the existing floor in the car now -- so I got it butt cut to where its flat, and took a disc grinder and grinding it down slowly, and individually. Pain in my arse!

    Ordered up the metal for the firewall to get cut out then I will pop some cleco's in to hold it and go from there :)

    Need to get everything cleaned up, measured and order some 2x3 .083 chassis tube, and begin the mock up process.

    Looking good..............sometimes the simplest things take the longest, but
    it's worth it in the end to take small steps..................and not try and rush.
