I got all the electric stuff today. Maybe I'll go to Pick-N-Pull this weekend to see about a box to put the relays in. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

:D corbin, i went to a new bone yard today and got a box. when i got to the counter to pay the guy told me $5 bucks. i told him i would give him a buck or i would put it back. he said they have a $5 buck min. i had asked about any mavs. when i got there but they had none. so the guy told me to just take the part because they didn't have the car i wanted to start with. wouldn't even take the buck i offered.
the box came from an 85' ford probe. it will hold six (6) relays. i will have pics. tomorrow. i got it mounted and the relays in but my knee started hurting so i had to stop.( wife's orders). she said i could finish tomorrow. she is so good to me.:) :) ...frank...:bananaman :bananaman

Frank; Corbin; I got a hobby box from Radio Shack. It is about 6" long, about 4.5" wide, about 2" deep. Costs about $4. Should hold all my relays (3) and the fuse block. Will let you know.

Hey Earl, I went down to Radio Shack too and got a 6x3x2 box. It'll work great. It was $3.79. Will be nice to keep the relays and fuse block out of the weather.

Corbin; put my relays and fuse block in the box from Radio Shack, and it works and looks good. It does, however, look a bit out of place on the shock tower. I will work on placing it in a different place at a later date. You are correct, out of the weather is good. I had to cut two 3/4" square ports in the box to run the wires through, and had no problems at all. Let me know how it goes. If you need help, let me know. If my camera worked, I would put up a few pics. Workin' on it.

Yep, I am doing pretty well. I didn't get it mounted today but I got all the stuff ready to go on tomorrow. The relays are mounted in the box where I want them, along with the fuse block. I think I am going to mount the box down below the voltage regulator and starter relay. Maybe throw on an MSD sticker and fool some people... :D j/k

P.S. I'll post pics when I am done.

Oh yeah, would you suggest making some small holes for air for the electronics, or do you think the air comming in through the wire holes is enough? Thanks Earl.

Looks nice! Say, when you guys did the swap, what did you do with the headlight plugs. The ones I got had wire pigtails on them already, but they are all 18 ga. I can't find any with 14, and I am having a hard time getting the correct terminals to replace the ones it came with. Any suggestions? I don't want to connect the 18 and the 14 together with a tube connector - I want solid 14 to the headlights. Thanks. Tomorrow I'll be hitting the shelves at the auto stores to see if I can find some with the little tit thing to keep it in the plastic plug...I found some today, but they were too small to fit on the headlight terminals..... Does this make any sense to you?

Here's an inside pic of the box. It gives you an idea of what it will look like. I only have a few things hooked up, but tomorrow - assuming I can get the right terminals - it will be up and running.

corbin, the box looks neat. i butt spliced to the 18 ga wire. in my thinking the stock wire was 18 ga all the way, so if i had a 2-3 inch piece it wouldn't hurt. i wrapped tape on all my pigtails so the splice doesn't show. it would be nice to have the 14 ga all the way but???? if you run across thoes connectors let us know....frank...:bananaman :bananaman

That's what I might have to do, but I am going to look for the connectors today, so I will let you know. I know that they make them because I found a pack yesterday, but the weren't the right size (too narrow to fit on the headlight prongs). I'll let you know what I find, or I might have to connect to the 18ga as well. Thanks.

They have some at Napa, but I had to order them. They weren't out on the shelf, but they had to look in the catalog of electrical connectors and such to find them. I'll let you know when I get them, and I'll try to find a part number. It'll probably be towards the end of the week.
