I gotta say... the black is alright but, it gives the car an " I'm not quite finished look", I think green but it would look good to paint just the top plane black.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
grabber scheme would look cool. but the same color of the car would work too! but black might look good to... but depends is the black is gloss or flat. what are you thinking of if you went black? i know i asked the same questions about my hood as well .. if i should paint it.. well as you can see below i just left it black.

i think leaving it black brought more attention to it... but it could be the material.

but you do what makes you happy! if you want you can always do both ways.. cuz i got a hood here uncut if you wanna buy one ;)

Thanks to you all for your input. I really think if I leave it black I may get a bad reputation with the locals. You see people may think that my "green maverick with a black hood" is really Frank (71gold) and Chris "green maverick with a black hood".(you know the one riding around with rubber all over the rear fenders)

And well they spin tires, and Blast down the back roads around here ,and put black marks on the roads........and I dont do stuff like that:D  :D LOL!!

 " they say, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all." so all i have to say is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ you can fill in the blanks and you know what goes in blanky-t-blank...frank...
p.s. and the rubber on the fenders came from the track where we ran about six weeks ago. we just haven' washed the car sence then:rolleyes:   maybe once or twice. you know once that rubber gets on it want come off. that is what my son is telling me.when he washes it he takes it down the road and blowes it off and when he gets back the rubber is still there. you don't think that is fresh rubber do you?my son wouldn't..... naaah. he is 17 and knows better than that, not on the roads.;)
i'm not a bad "influence" on my son am i??? i was just showing him what not to do.

If you're still taking a head count my vote would be to go with green or green with black insert. Like someone else said, solid black gives it an unfinished look. It's an awesome looking car by the way.(y)
