I have never had a plat on this car. When I bought it was motor to tranny. When I switch from motor mounts to plates, I had a flexplate spacer and starter spacer machines too offset the mid-plate.
that what has happened to me before...I surmized it was due to overtightening the bolt. I know this is maybe not the best looking way to try and fix it...but after all the years of this issue...if it works....I am just fine with the "engineering"
May not be pretty but it works....seems to be the way my entire Maverick was built. After firing the new engine the other day and getting my eyes & nose burned from the meth fumes, I'm getting excited about getting back on the track! I wish I had a capture card so I could post a vid. Alcohol injection + 415" + lots of cam & compression = lots of noise. Sitting in the garage just idling was hard on the ears. And nose and eyes. I was teared up pretty good after 45 seconds of running.
it won't take the competition that long to get teary eyed. good luck with it. sure would like to see and hear it myself.
