When setting up a car from scratch you normally look at close to 3 degrees down for the trans and 3 up for the pinion. I have set cars and hot rods up like this without any issues.............ever.
My Maverick drag car is set at around 5 down for the trans, but since my ladder bar setup is a slidder and the pinion angle changes it's of no use, but 5 degrees for a street car is a little extreme.
Like I said, 3 up and down is the norm, but if you can only get 1.5 up and down go with it, just try and keep trans and pinion angle the same.

Thanks alot for the info. I can easily go down 0.5 degrees on the trans, we'll see how much I can get up on the rear without contact. Maybe it's time to 4 link it...

Good idea. I did not know that! I actually have a 9" out of a 72 Montego. I will have to have it narrowed and spring perches welded on, but that sounds like a plan.

Thank you guys for all your help and suggestions :D
