Congrats!!! Those wheels are, in my opinion, the best looking for a Maverick.

Terry, looks like you got some jealous people on your hands.

That wheel would find it's way into that '77 if I were in your shoes. I don't know what wheel you were planning to put in that car, but it would have to be pretty damn nice to match the looks of that sport wheel IMO. Thing cleaned up damn good.

Question/hijack to who ever may know: my sport wheel was painted black from the factory. If I were to strip the paint and sand it the same way Terry did, would it come out looking the same? Is it possible to use the horn parts from one sport wheel and put them in another sport wheel that didn't have the horn built in originally? One of my friends is turning his Mustang II into a drag car and said I could have the sport wheel out of it which is rusty and the grip is falling apart, but it has all the horn parts and a real nice plastic center cap.

I'd be jealous if I had a Maverick Stallion.

I prefer my Grant Sport style with the more appropriate Longhorn emblem from D (only because I am jealous that you stole it and it cleaned up very nice!).

Well, at least I'm the squirrel this time.:D

When I asked the owner of the yard how much he wanted for that steering wheel, he asked "What's it worth to you?" He didn't ask "What's it worth?"
I said, "I dunno. "Twenty-five bucks?" He took the offer without a counter offer.

Sometimes you are the pigeon and sometimes you are the statue. Yesterday, I was the statue.:yup:

Er, uh, make that the pigeon.

You're close. It wasn't no coffee; it was "Daddy can you..." "Daddy help me with..." "Honey... I forgot to unlaod the back of the truck last night; can you do it while I get ready?"

    Messed with the Stallion Symbol...

This afternoon, I did a little more polishing on the wheel and then clear coated the metal parts. I also put one of Dan Hines' World Famous Maverick emblems inside the horn button. Anybody need a stallion emblem? What's it worth on e-Bay to the Mustang II guys? Here's a pic or two.

It is a hair off. The clear button cover is off center as well - a defect. It looks a previous owner tried to pry the clear top with losing the entire button assembly. I will eventually get a better button and try to stick another emblem in there. I will say this, once those Hines emblems touch the surface, they stick.
