Not picking on any one in particular here but from much experience, failures can be chalked up to a "installator defect". :D

    Huh? you can't clean l.e.d's ?

Have to agree! I have msd in racer, unilite in several street cars. Only problem i had with the Mallory was when my buddy arc'd power into the unilite! Needless to say new module! I have learned to always read the directions! Done enough work, then rework, cause you just don't do it the way you use too! or what seems to "make sense!"

I found an old Echlin dual point distributor from dad's old race car the other day. No vacuum advance, are they any good? Dad bought it new back in the 70's, car never made it back around the track, got put in the wall. Said it was a cleaveland, wish I had more info on that motor, I was thinking, well, its the 400/351 modified, he thought was a small block, So I thought well it had to be a windsor,, he said, nope, wasnt no windsor,, was a cleaveland! Only difference I seen in the 302 dizzy, and the echlin, was the gear was bigger, everything else was a dead ringer for a 302. Chad

    Don't bother with the Mallory.
You'd be much happier with a magnetic trigger.
    Duraspark is all I use.
The MSD distributor is based on the Duraspark, if that tells you anything.
The Duraspark will trigger either a stock CD box or an MSD box. Your choice.
I used to process warranty replacements for Unilites...
Kept me very busy! I would never have one.

Been running a unilte since 1984, same one! Maverick sat on the side of the house for 6 years+ (I know I know how could I) and it still runs great. Use it with the promaster coil.

Picked up a Duraspark II distributor from a '77 F100 last weekend at the junkyard for 16 bucks. Put a new pickup in it along with adjusting the mechanical advance with a Mr. Gasket 925D spring. Car runs excellent. Currently running a Chevy HEI ignition module just to get it back on the road. Will switch it to MSD 6 soon.

Now to get the Holley Demon carb I installed last night fine tuned. :evilsmile This car is turning into an absolute monster... Took my buddy for a ride in it last night. He was literally shakeing and couldn't stop laughing when he got out of the car.
