Breaking now for the holidays, looking to run the Hangover Nats at Richmond Dragway on 12/28. . . . . . anyone interested?
Hummmmm, Something to think about Gary, might be to cold for me though. Cecil is still running T&T this weekend might try that to if not to cold.
Richmond is a nice little trk,1/8 mi,make sure you have a 5 something gear before you go.I lived there for 20 or more yrs, gets quite cold,so hopefully the race happens. It used to be 1/4 mi but they changed a few yrs back, the shut down area was a little short & I`ve seen a few cars in the woods over the yrs.Other than insurance reasons might be why they went to 1/8mi.It used to be run by Mr. Wise,& lets just say NICLEY,he was`nt the easiest person to get along with.I was up there a couple of yrs ago for my birthday & it`s different now,I think his daughter is running it & everyone seemed to be pretty happy(IHRA),maybe I can get up to watch.
Yeah, we ran that race a couple of yrs. ago, the weather co-operated in the mid 60's. Got my butt handed to me first rd, bought back and got the same result. Whew! some good racers there. It sure helps to break up the winter. Doesn't seem so long when you're racing in late Dec. or early Jan. Tried Kinston's winterfest a couple of times, seems they can never get a race completed. Richmond is a good one day race if the weather is good. Hope it happens.
Ive been very spoiled living 5 miles from Englishtown (Raceway park) all my life, I have raced at Raceway park, Atco, Maple Grove, Cecil County, Island Dragway, and the now defunct Long Island dragway, what also has been nice is that all those track are within 100 miles of my house. I would like to add at least one more track to my list next year , and I know it will be past my 100 mile radius. Duane
I was there last time 2 yrs ago & they only ran 1/8 for everyone. That night there were some really fast gas burning dragsters turning low 4s in the 1/8 & all classes ran 1/8.So I thought they switched over like so many other trks.At Dinwiddie, super pro runs 1/8,everyone else runs 1/4,go figure.
richmond Grew up in the 60s going to Richmond, saw my first AFX cars race there. Pee Wee Wallace was a local with a funny sometime around 69 maybe? Actually took home a few trophies with my 69 6cly Mav, running a blistering high 16s
Green Maverick and two Chevy's will be there. Hoping Coop and his Comet will make the trip. Should be a good time!
Weather was great today, how about some results on the action in Richmond. Going through 1320 withdraw need to know.
Great weather, big car count, (don't have an actual number). Car went 6.29 at 108 with a 1.34 short time. Went .004 RED second round. Not how I planned this. Nephew's Chevelle went four rounds before going red. Still, a good time! Racing in mid winter makes it a lot more bearable.
