Finished up welding the last small piece of metal into the left rear quarter panel last night - next I'll fill in some of the gaps between the tack welds and then it's time to move on again
Yeah...you have been doing superb work on this car...and a fantastic job documenting it Bob... ...you have page after page...of ALOT of hard work on the body, rust repairs, engine, steering...and alot more...whew! I need to get on tearing mine down faster.
Thanks Roger - appreciate the thumbs up - still lots of work to go yet but, once the body is right, it should move along a lot quicker
WOW just WOW!!!! I looked through most of your gallery and you must have the patience of job, and a god given talent for engineering artistry and perfection. Ive never seen such attention to detail and ingenuity on a single vehicle in my life. My dad had a lot of that too he could build anything anyone wanted and it always turned out better than they could imagine and he was just an old junkman that had been everywhere and seen everything, my hat, if I could wear one goes off to you sir. thanks for sharing all you progress on a guaranteed unique automobile build. sincerely, wade
Thank you for the nice comments, Wade - I spent 24 years building circle track cars and stopped doing than about 10 years ago so I had to do something to vent my creativity - With the weather getting slightly warmer now, I should be getting back to it by next weekend - I really hope that I can get it rolling out of the garage soon on 4 tires Thanks again
I can't quite explain why I seemed to just give up on my build in early December or explain why, at this time, I got the urge again to go full speed at it - maybe like a writer gets "writer's block" or something like that - I don't know I decided to start again at the back of the car and get at the Shelby Mustang rear valence fitment - I got the right side of the valence fit to the quarter panel fairly well - just a bit more trimming to go
Bob, Could it have anything to do with the PA winter? As much fabrication as you have done, I would be tired too. The break is good sometimes. Good job so far. Rick
