Thanks for all of the feedback. Admittedly, your responses reinforced my gut feeling.....I do want to keep my maverick! If, financially and logistically, I can work things out, someday, on cool summer days, I will be out cruising in my Stallion. My wife even encourages me to keep it. And get this, she said she will park her Mini Cooper on the street so I can put my Maverick in the garage. I know most, if not all, of you guys do your own work on your cars. Well, that is not me. If it was I would still be living and working on the farm in Minnesota. That being said, does anyone know, either in and around Minnesota (where the car is) or Cleveland and NE Ohio (where I live), someone they would recommend to work on my Maverick Stallion?
My first car was a Stallion, and of course I regret selling it, even though I was only 20 when I sold it. Like it's been said, once it's gone, you loose any power to reverse your decision. It was your first car, so unless you "need" to sell it, my advise would be to keep it! If you do decide to sell, let me know, I would be interested. But again, make sure that is what you really want to do. Art
I would say to keep it as well. It is one of the rarer Mavericks...and you will always regret it if you let it go! I don't live in northern Minnesota, but my parents were born and raised there...mom is from Virginia and dad is from Chisholm. I still have many relatives there...where abouts do your parents live? (I don't know if I would be able to give advice on where to get restoration work done though....sorry! )
Of course this isn't all that far from Jean and Dale's place in Pennsylvania. I dragged my car there for them to work on(and it was WELL worth it I might add ), and I live north of Detroit. 'Course I am little wackier than most...
