The BushMaster. dscf0125_original.jpg dscf0129_original.jpg Gene Your car reminds me of a 20 MM Gatteling Bushmaster Chain Gun I worked on in 1981, for Hughes Aerospace. Damn thing fired 35,000 Rounds Per Minute. We developed the gun for the Apache Helecopter in order to chew up the Russian MI 35 Gunship. Bro Your car sounds just like that gun. I hearby (Cause Im deaf in my left ear) dub your Mav "The Bushmaster". Nice car Bro. Even if it does have a Holey Carb.:D

Yes, got it back on there. the jet changes didn't change the air/fuel ratio enough and I even lost abit of horse power and a little torque for my troubles.

Big Guy...Your frame conectors are awesome....did you make those? Im inspired to make some just like them. Ive looked around for some and dont really get to excited by the aftermarket ones available.

If your talking about the sub-frame connectors I got those about 7 years ago from a guy on here who was making them or was it someone on here who refered me to someone else who made them... I can't remember.

Once it started sliding it was pretty smooth... finally got the tires to smoke, to bad it wasn't a burnout...

was it you that loaned me the screwdriver? if it was, ryans brother used it last for his carb and I think he still has it.

That screw driver was a House tool, They probably have it back. Your car is Bad Ass. I think I can make those frame connectors, I had an idea on how to do it, but I wasnt sure it would work till I saw yours. Those connectors are smooth and clean and stronger than the subframes.

Well we have a new record for the number of cars at a meet. The Rain Fest Pizza party drew 6 cars and alot of members. The Dyno Day drew 7 Mav/Comricks and a good group of guys.

Thanks again to those of you who brought the food and grill.

Big thanks to Alex and Roxy for running the Machine.

The end of the day was very anticlamitic. I ran a 297, and only went down with more timing. Carb is way rich and need to pop open the carb to change the jets, it was getting too late for me to put in that much work. I'll just tinker with it at the track and see what happens. Sucks I coulnt get the 3 more hp to get the 300 mark.

Ditto everything above. Nice to put names with faces. I'll try to get the pics uploaded to a folder here soon. David, I'm glad ur okay, bud. I once did a 180 in the middle of Bell Rd. when my tranny locked up (will never use Hughes valve bodies again). Wrecked the passenger rear quarter panel. Seriously though, I'm happy to hear u and ur ride are both okay. :thumbs2:

I'm confused about my numbers and what to do with them... I have never heard of a 289 with more torque than hp, and by changing all I did on that carb than have that little of an impact on the dyno as far as the air/fuel ratio than even losing hp and torque at the end... I have no idea whats going on.

one thing I gotta say about the spin out is that it was very smooth, I even stayed on the same path of travel as I was intending (except for ending up facing the wrong direction part).

I was just thinking about why I had such a lean reading in the primary range even after I richened it up as much as posible which my engine shouldn't require... I may have some junk in the primary venturies... I'm running one of those clear filters right now I guess I need to go back to a stock one.
