NICE!!!.. that thing should improve greatly with those mod's. Should be improved right off the bat with less dive, wallowing, and rear tire transitional unloading issues. What would be really cool now.. is to get another picture of the car in a turn similar to that one(speedwise, as well).. and then compare the attitude between them. I'm very curious where you got your 1 1/8th bar from? A supplier or link would be great!
I agree I think I will need to visit that track again soon for a comparsion picture. The roll bar was made for me from EN 24 steel and hardended to the correct spec by a local blacksmith forge near my home town. He copied the old one exactly and to be honest it fits better than the Addco one around the Canton 15-630 sump I have fitted, it was always quite close to the front corner of the sump but now misses it by about 7mm. It cost £200 but I didnt have time on my side as the next race is a few days away.
EN-24 is a good choice and if your blacksmith used induction or nitriding for surface hardening it will outlast the car.....................that's assuming you keep the shinny side up. Looking really nice........................can't wait to see more video of it on the track. Good Luck!
Great picture! and Looks like you are really having some fun! At least at this point you look like you're ahead of the Chevy. How is the car handling now?
Hi At first I was having really bad handling problems, I had traction bars fitted in qualifying but couldn't get the car to turn in without it washing out. I took them off and it was fantastic. I fitted them prior to me having the rear springs de cambered, it was like the rear end was solid. Needs a bit more spring pressure at the front so I will most likely put a suspension kit on it if I can remember who sells them in the US? All in all the day was great and I kept ahead of the Chevy
Some footage from the weekends racing, Our race is about 3 hours in. Hope you can all view it. I ended up spinning but didnt come last. http://new.livestream.com/accounts/1426300/events/2275824/videos/26408500
