Just and FYI. RRS Australia has completed the final test rack and is sending it out soon (next two weeks I think) I should have it photographed and mounted under a car by mid-October. I'll post pictures when we have it. Jeff
hey what's the current pricing for the power ifs rack for the maV? and would you consider a narrowed down version of youre current torque arm/3link to fit a mav?
Doesn't it have to come from Australia now? A local guy, was trying to buy a front end kit from them, and that's what he got from the conversation.
Yes they are. I had to wait for some of my parts to get here when I did mine. Took about a month to get all of the parts I ordered.
I ordered a power rack a couple of years ago and it came from Australia and took about a month to get. The exact price depends on the conversion between whatever currency you are paying with (I paid in US$ ) and Australian dollars. You can email them for a quote. Here's the website: http://www.rrs-online.com.au/rack&pinionproducts.php
I guess it depends on the conversion rate between the US dollar and the Australian dollar. When I bought the RRS rack kit it cost about the same as what the entry level Rod and Custom kit costs (according to what I see currently on the Rod and Custom website). Also, it depends on what you want. The RRS kit only required drilling a couple of extra holes in the frame and some small modification of the steering column to install. Very close to a "drop in" conversion. The full "Mustang II" type conversion is gonna require cutting out the shock towers and welding the frame...a lot more involved and you better know what you are doing if you don't want to ruin you car....
Yeah. You're right. I was just thinking of the fact that the R&C kit comes with everything including brakes. It is tempting to have a new front suspension and brakes in addition to my new rack and pinion steering. Buuuut the bolt in factor is verra nice too. And I already have some Granada disk brakes to put in, and they are the same size (11") as the base R&C brakes. So do you know how much the RRS manual steer kit is in U.S. Dollars?
