Here's a way to get the wagon into the states. Any one remember M*A*S*H when Radar was sending home a Jeep from Korea to Iowa by shipping it over piece by piece? Buy the wagon, completely dissasemble the thing and ship it over one part at a time . It will more than likely cost an arm and a leg and a few other limbs to do, but as long as you get all the parts back and remember how to put it back together again............ hey it was just a thought. It would be so cool to get the wagon over here. I would love to see one someday. If it can be done, do it!
I don't know if these will help, but here are some shipping companies I found that do International Shipping: http://www.shipyourcar.net http://www.weshipcars.com http://www.aaat.com http://www.dependableautoshippers.com Some of these will quote you on the Internet, but you would probably get quicker responces if you called them. Good Luck, and I hope this works out! -Corbin
I already found a shipping company that will deliver it from there to Baltimore. I guess the only thing left is to determine if this car is worth it. I want to make sure it is complete and not a rust bucket.
Mavaholic, this would be my dream for that car, as if it matters but I wanted to say it. I would put 2door doors on it (which would take alot of work I realize) and either weld up the sides or keep glass, kind like a sedan delivery or the 50s country sedans. Nothing less than a v-8, small bumpers(which it looks like it already has), a grabber hood or one with the scoop like you already do, lowered down with a nice set of meats all the way around. Just some thoughts I like dreaming of.
OK all, don't bash me, because I am all for it, but i work with a guy (he owns a civic) who says that this car is just plain ugly, and not worth all that money to import. Is it actually worth the money that will be spent to bring it over here?? (just quoting my work buddy) He things the regular mavs are alright, but not the wagon. Anyone here good with photoshop?? maybe we could show the potential the car might have.
I'm not real kien on the looks of this car either. I have always loved the 2 door wagons. I wish I still had the ones I've owned. I have thought about making a 2 door wagon but, if it didnt work out, I would destroy a real nice 2 door maverick. It would take far more talent than I have to make this happen. Since I already have more projects than I have time (or money) to do, This would be a unique car to own. It would probably be safe to say, it will be the only production Maverick wagon in North America. I could fix this car up probably for less than $2000 and in a few months if I kept it fairly stock. I figure If it all happens, I will have it here and finished for less than $6000. Is it worth it? Not to most, but it would be to me. I think Hudson Hornets and Tuckers are ugly but I'd own one in a heartbeat.
I'm with you all the way Dennis. It wouldn't surprise me abit to see you at the 2003 nationals with that thing in the back of the trailer all done
I am pretty good with photo-shop...so I will work on it and post back here in a few minutes with what it would look like.
O.K.....now this is a very rough draft....but this is what a Maverick Sation Wagon might look like all fixed up:
