Didn't think I would stump you Ricky!!!!

I haven't called ya in awhile...I need to do this soon for a couple of parts!

    ------------------

    retyped question below:

    Maverick Trivia Question:

On the Ford Mavericks, what was the other Factory part/s, that had the words "Maverick" visible on them?

This excludes: paper documentation/manuals, the chromed emblems, decals, grill badges, and gas caps?

No hints* Dave gave a small hint earlier. (I can only think of one item, but maybe there's more)

Okay....here's the answer to the Ford Maverick Trivia question: (pic below)

It's a Factory, Ford Maverick Muffler, from a 1972 Maverick Grabber. It also shows the trademark "Ford" logo on there, next to the words "Maverick". Both words were stamped into the metal.

I know that not all Mavericks had these on them from the factory, but they DID exist on some. :)

Well, that wasn't fair! My 71 Grabber had a glasspack on it when I bought it in 1981! And it didn't even have "that" to begin with. Like Rick, I've had Mavericks with everything stripped off, and couldn't remember anything having "Maverick" on it.

Yeah....I think what made this part elusive to so many like you, and Craig, Rick Brooks, Dan Hines, and others, was the fact that it was a part that was normally wore out, or rusted off of the cars by the time we owned them, or dealt with that part.

I would have never seen this part survive in this kind of shape, had it not been for the very low humidity and low rust in Arizona!

I am 44 years old, and I think Craig and Dan Hines are close to that age too....not sure about Dave's age....so back when I owned my first 2 Mavericks...and saw my first one's in the Midwest...they had already had their mufflers replaced in many cases! :) (I believe Dave knew the answer, and was nice enough to hold off, to let others try to answer)

I cut this factory muffler off my 72 Grabber, and placed it in the capable hands of RobbieRacer, here in Arizona....and this rare part couldn't be with a nicer guy. :)
