There is a local musclecar dealership here that had a 70 Falcon/429 CJ/4 speed that was a factory car... I seem to recall it was a survivor rather than restored car. Had a lot of documentation.

The plaque in front of it said "This is to Ford as COPO was to Camaro". :thumbs2:

    Pretty much...lol

The comet body style came out after the Maverick had already been introduced...although the Comet(Cyclone) had a similar body style in 1970, body panels could not be swapped with the Maverick, it wasnt until '71 that the Comet had changed so that body parts were interchangeable with the Maverick.

At least thats what Ive gathered through research, I may be wrong

The Maverick is really the Comet's baby brother that lingers just a little to much. You know, you bring over a date to your house and there hiding in the closet is your baby brother watching you and your girl hoping to see something and you send him to bed. Shoooo little fellow your only 7 years old , time for beddy bies. Comets are older and might i say better. :p 1960 to 1977 vs 19691/2 to 1977, i'm just sayin'.:tiphat::rofl::victory::xmas::mischeif::stirthepot:

The 70 Torino/ Falcon was also badged as a 70 Fairlane. Had one. It was a plain jane 2dr 302 auto. Very strong motor.
