I couldn't make it past midnight. The kids were bummed when I said we had to go to bed. Should be a great day at the show in the park today.:bananaman:bananaman

Good picnic and show today. Jim Allen took the best of show and Jim Larson won the peoples choice. Mike Cooper took the Maverick Comet excellence award. The best of show and the Maverick Comet excellence award were made by Tom Hackman and they were very nice. People are out in the parking lot for one last night here.:)

Here are a couple of "BS'n" pics :thumbs2:. It was 10 till 12 when I took these. Pumpkinitis was setting in.
I feel bad that Effie and Daryl and John were out of view in the pic. Sorry about that. I didn't even realize it till I was getting ready to post them.

We had a great time, again. It was neat to be able to take both kids and have Dad along with his car too. He was really impressed with our group. He has told me several times what a friendly bunch it was how many nice families he met.

He and I have been attending car events for over 40 years, and his reaction to his first Gathering was similar to mine 3 years ago. Awesome!!

We have been to so many events where people spend the majority of their time preening and shining their rides and miss the opportunity to visit with all the great folks around them.

To sum it up for me (and I hope it isn't taken the wrong way), I would not even think about driving 1200+ miles, using a week of vacation, and spending my dollars to "look at a bunch of Mavericks (and a Comet :))".

I will, however, do it all again next year to see their owners. Thanks for a great time guys.:tiphat:

    My turn..again :D.
Took us about 7 hrs to get home. That included a gas stop and a stop at Braum's.
My family and I enjoyed my time there as well. My wife never thought that a car event could be so much fun. We look forward to next year.
I really put an effort to try and remember names to faces this time. There are so many and with our user names sometimes being different, it's alot to remember. Daryl is good with names. I felt like he knew everyones name.
John and I didn't get to test fit the grill..oh well. I'll get to do it sometime. I need to find some yellow painted 1157 bulbs so that Frank will give me at least one thumb up .
And yet again I got another compliment on my way home. "I love your Maverick".. sheeese. Someday I will come across someone who knows the difference. Otherwise, I may have to sell..

    NOT!
