Kick ass!! Welcome, and like Columbus Comet said, we love pics. I especially love vintage pics! Lookin forward to learning more about your car. -Corbin
Here is a pic of 1971 Comet Stabber that 71Stabber emailed me today.... Thanks 71STABBER for Pic and look forward to seeing more....welcome to the board.
Any copies of any original paperwork on the Stabber? I wondered if they had a bump sticker or it was just listed as a Stabber on the dealer invoice. With the picture from the Stabber article, 71stabber could replicate the decals that should have been on his car originally. Neat that he still has it!! Black would have to be rare too. I'd get a Marti report on it. It won't show the Stabber dealer add-on package, but I'll be that paint color is rare all by itself.
That is cool as heck, who would of thought, it's in freakin' Winder! I'll keep the Winder jokes to myself. Seriously, that is a cool car, I'll bet the only one of it's kind still around, especially in that color combo. Pic appears to be kind of dated, what condition is the car currently in? I agree with Chuck, a Marti report is a MUST on this car..
When he emailed me he stated that "This pic is from around the time his Dad bought the car from his cousin in 1991. He doesnt have current pic as car is being restored and a 351 replacing the 302. Personally I wish he would take it back to all original it being such a rare car, but it is his car and that is just my opinion. Great Car though!!!
NICE!!! Sidepipes, hoodscoop, black body, white stripe, front spoiler, black slot mags, killer combo. what did you all think after you saw those sidepipes??? lmao I'm drooling for those wheels, can't help it.
I really hate to be the board skeptic but that car doesn't even come close to matching the description in that article that Chuck posted. The article says dual "side pipe" (that replace the original exhaust) not covers that coverup a set of cherrybomb mufflers. The article also says that it has hood pins installed I can't tell for sure but that car (the balck GT int he picture) doesn't appear to have any hood pins and there is no mention in the article about a chin spoiler being installed as part of the Stabber package. LAst but not least for the car to be in such good shape and have all the original sidepipes and all on it, then why doesn't the car have the Stabber decal on the fender where it belongs. Sorry to be such a skeptic and if the above pictured car is in fact a Stabber then I appologize, but I have been around the internet a little to long to take a picture for any more than face value
looks like it has the bear cat rims to me the dealer install stuff doesnt really seem to excite me much anyway, atleast not any more then owner install stuff does
