Type "Mexican Brochure" in the search gallery and you will see several pictures of it. This one indicates V8 289 on the sixth line down (blow it up a bit). I can't read what else it says but it is there.
Mexico also had 4dr toyota 4X4 trucks since the 60s and we only got them a while back. Same with the Nissan 4dr trucks, they had them back in the 80s. Mexico also has a line of BMW 100 series roadsters for over a decade that the US is barely gonna introduce here. Just like the Mercedes Smart ForFun 2-cylinder 60mpg, been around everywhere else since early 2000s, those tiny cars we just started to see here last year. They are not even hybrid, they are gas. the Mercedes ForFun2 hasn't made it here yet, fun looking 5700cc diesel 4X4.
when i took a trip to mexico i saw some pretty neat mavericks but most of them were US made ones, and i didnt find any shelbys or falcon ones
Hi Javis, i am the proud owner of a 71 mexican Maverick and it was original with the 289 engine, now it has a 302 after a convertion. But the production of that type or vehicle ended in 1974 i believe. ( this according to my uncle, previous owner of my now jewel )
I took pics of a 289 Maverick in Mexico years ago. It was all stock and had 289 flags like a 65-66 Mustang on the fenders. It looked original to me since nothing else on the car had been changed.
