Mick, Your Comet is pretty special to me because it is so close to what mine aspires to be once again. Congrats on too many trophies!
So will we see you at the Michigan Mini-Meet on Sunday, June 1st? I say "we" because I will be there.
Thanks Jeff. All it takes is time patience and money (not necessarly in that order) and your dreams can come true.
Great Writeup! Taking your time and doing things right makes all the difference. Love the Mag 500's! What center caps did you install on them? Can't tell from the pictures but look like Mustang Logo's.
The build pictures will include the Magnum 500s with Mustang center caps. I got the whole package rims, lugnuts and center caps from CJ Pony Parts for a great price so I couldn't pass it up. I took a lot of grief for having Mustang center caps on my Comet so i ordered some decals from edecals.com and this is what the center caps now look like.
They look Great! Your Comet is outstanding! I also know what it feels like when you sell your first Comet and then find one later in life. The excitement returns along with all the memories. I bought a 71 GT after H.S., sold it when I got married years later. Recently Found a Comet GT project car and after 2.5 years I am still making improvements to it. I will never part with it.
The Seats are in!! I bought the materials 4 years ago before my car was even finished. I've been waiting for three years to get my seats done. The only thing that has been holding me back was the money tree. It just wasn't growing. But miracles do happen and I finally came up with the cash. The seats came out even better th an my expectations. My interior guy does beautiful work. Now the car is finally done - well I guess they say you are nver really done with a classic car - there is always more to do. But I am done for now. Now it is time just to sit back and enjoy it. The outside of the car looks just like my first car (as you'll notice in my avatar). For the inside I decided to go with a custom interior that mimics the original.
Beautiful.. Would like to see some pics without so much sun light. But the lines and patterns are top notch. Awesome job. Actually LOOKS cumfy.
Most car feature photography is done either just at sunrise or sunset ... much gentler light. Also, when taking shots of an interior or underhood, use the flash and it will remove a lot of shadow. It is very cool that you went with that color for the interior. I know it had to be a lot of legwork to pull that off.
The interior really looks nice. I just need to figure out how to make the thumbnail pix full size on this Win 8 OS.
