re: why so much hp on 10.5"? That is the main purpose of the tire size limitation - these guys have to tune these things to the nth degree to get 'em to stay between the lines and without burning the tires off. Some of the these guys have 3-stage nitrous kits on 'em (timed at different intervals down the track). It is an absoulute blast to watch! re: burndown I believe at the local tracks in Houston, you can stay pre-staged as long as you like (like what's on the vid). Only when one driver lights the SECOND yellow (fully staged) does the timer begin - usually 15 seconds. I've also used the burndown to my advantage. I was up against a Lightning. The longer I sat there, the more I could here his rpm's revving. I only fully staged when I suspected his rpm's were too high to get any traction. Just as I suspected. A "W" for me. It really is part of the head-game. I've had it attempted on me several times too. Only my cars were so slow and off their dial, it really didn't bother me 'cause I figured I didn't stand a chance anyway! re: Todd Moyer Ivey, I think I mentioned the night I saw him eat it at the end of the (short) track at HMP. He absolutely did not pull the shoot until he was way passed the traps. I do know that that is one fast sunuvagun though. Jeez, I love this hobby!
Rick Jeff got the #1 spot last year at the clash . But had a ford that that ran the low numbers they were the last two to run and the ford broke a wheel on the line but Todd ran 6.97 at houston this year (1/4 mile) he will be their i am sure.Rick I will be their to run N/E if you come out come by JEFF the man last year
Naiser is definetly a threat. I love watching that car too. A lot of my (other) friends are going to be at the Clash too, Ivey. I might try to make it out on Saturday at least. My friend, Ben Frazier, is supposed to be there. He has put together a turbo Mustang Coupe (Street Class) that should break into the low 9's! He was in line at the FFW in Louisiana when a kid behind him hit his nitrous and rear-ended his car. Ben's car then rear-ended the car in front of him. It totaled out Ben's Mustang Saleen (clone) convertible (that had been in more than a few magazines). He was running low 10.1XX's on a pump-gas tune on his 351 based engine. He took that drive-train out of that HEAVY convertible and put it into a VERY LIGHT Mustang Coupe recently. He hasn't made a full all-out pass in it yet. 'Hope to see you there and Good Luck
