got the starter out.hooked up some jumper cables as suggested.turned over fast, but a little weak, tried again, same thing,(bendix is kicking out fine)tried a 3rd,4th.5th,and 6th time and it just turned over veeeeery slow(about 20 reveloutions per minute!)bendix wouldn't even kick out!me thinks me on to something!! i bought this starter about 2 yrs ago(only has if anything 4oo miles on it!) and it made the selonoid whine/hum the first day i put it on(when i had the 3spd.man.setup).but never dragged,so i never gave it much thought.oh well, more to come, chuck.

if the motor is frozen, i find that putting a heater on it will warm it right up...

hehehe.. i had to.. i am in a jocular mood today

sorry if it was a bad joke...

sorry to hear about the engine.. hope you get it done soon
i would say plastigauage the main bearings.. see what kind of space you have.. it could be the wrong bearings as suggested.
i havent read all the posts in this.. so im sorry if i am saying the same thing
