"Not really even collectible since that implies some kind of large value appreciation. A Hemi anything is collectible. A maverick or comet is just interesting"

A hemi anything is collectible??? , I'd say hardly since the only word you ever hear lately is Hemi, everything hemi can't be collectible, thats like saying everything, with an automatic transmission ( made by Mopar) is collectible

if automatic transmissions had the ledgendary street cred as a hemi that might be the case

aside from the late model hemi cars of the past few years any original mopar with its hemi still under the hood will fetch its price

Poor 'ole G-bodies. I almost forgot about them. It's a sad period of time when a Monte SS has a 305 in it. Those cars were grocery getters on a good day, but still a big block drops right down into the hole. Lots of potential there.

lol at shelby rampage!!!! Now THAT is an ugly vehicle! [IMG]

the point was that automaticc transmissions are not rare, and late model hemis are not rare. DOn't see how a 2006 Dogge Pickup with Hemi is Collectible. A Dodge Ram Indy Pace Truck seems collectible to me.. for Mopar guys, Early Hemis in original muscle cars are obviously high dollar but part of that is becsue so many of them rusted out, were wrecked or other wise destroyed As discussed rarity alone doesn't make something valuable, but it does help.

Who was talking about late model small block Hemis? I just assumed everyone would know I was talking about elephants.

yea you mentioned GN's and t-type regals but left the rest of the g's out lol

thats why i said that, to clear up any confusion

take my list of g-bodies for example...

    442's
    hurst/olds
    pontiac 2+2's
    Monte carlo SS's
    aero backs montes

rarest car on that list is probably the one year only '87 2+2 fast back pontiac. at the same time its probably the most unheard of car in the group and probably closer to the bottom as far as value since it is basically the most unknown.

actually, for a 4 banger they put out some pretty good numbers (185-195hp)

sure beats the 125hp 02 hyundai i used to drive

It used the Quad 4. Some of the early Beretta GTZs had the same thing. For what they were, they're fun (I still own a Beretta Z26, but it has a 3.1). The Quad 4s blew heads gaskets all the time.

I guess classic would be more of a fit than muscle.

I don't care what other people or groups want to categorize them as. I like to simply call them MINE!

I know what I got and that is good enough for me.:drive:

Getting back to late-model "hemis" for a second ...
they do not even technically fit their name! The new ones are closer to a wedge head than having hemispherical combustion chambers.

It is very effective marketing however. Fools the general public very well indeed.
