speed channel matt, you need to condence your story, put your photos together and email stacey david. i'd bet the house that he would put your project on an episode of gearz.he loves stories just like this.best regards matt and keep the front end down will ya?
Matt, great build dude! Have you made any more progress with the body work and paint since your last post?
Thanks guys! Sorry to say I really havn't made much 'progress' on it so to speak..It being my daily driver, and not having a warm dry place to park it. I just cant exactly cut it up and start patching quarters.. not to mention, I got involved in small circle track racing locally and it aint cheap.. as for now the car looks like this image hosting png Its nothing more then rattlecan..but I figured I really needed to get the primer covered up and cleanup the frontend a bit. Its gonna be a long time till I'm done with it, but the good thing, I'm NEVER EVER gonna let this baby go. We're stuck for the longhaul!
Thanks guys! I finally made some progress...well, I think it can be called progress! Got my Hooker Long tube headers delivered today, hopefully sometime later this month I can get to fitting them. I'm going to see what all it will take to make them fit my Mav with the original column shifter I know Im missing out on a lot more good motor sound having shorties currently..
Matt I just took a trip down memory lane and reread all you posts about the Mav, its been great watching everything as you move along. Now with your new found interests and life in general it has slowed your progress but all this is understandable the main thing is you still have the passion and love for your car
Thanks Mike! now with the car racing settled down I've been able to start spending some money on the Mav! I gotta get some carb work done before the cruise! The exhaust is a reeeeeeeeeeeally rich smell...
With some strategic whacking and some motor lifting, you should be able to squeeze `em in. No, it won't be easy, but after about 18 beers a side,...it will come together.
Automatic floorshift (factory setup) goes in tomorrow afternoon! Different steering column and all! Also a disc brake installation might sneak into my projects list for NEXT week...
