I had to work yesterday, but I did get to the shop today for a while..... I finished sanding with the 400, then used scotch brite in all the jam and window frame areas..... Then I went over the outside panels with 600..... After that I got it out side and blew both it and the shop out..... Next I tacked it down to get the dust that was clinging off the body..... Put it back in the shop and started cleaning up messes..... This is what it looks like.....
Went down this morning and cleaned up a little, then wiped the car down and masked it up..... I got everything pretty much ready to go so I tacked it off and proceeded to get a coat of sealer on it, and up pops a blemish where the edge is feathered in from sanding..... There were a few similar spots and there was only a couple that had to be a problem..... Oh well, I have to fix them up in the morning and try again..... Here's what it's currently looking like..... Here you can se the worst spot right behind the drip rail at the top of the quater.....
i just found this form at like 9pm and started reading it im at the end and its 2am......the car looks great i didnt know all the stuff u did to it was even possible. i think it look great and is going to be mean when it rolls out of ur shop for the first time. u should be proud of it
Got the bad spots fixed..... Then painted the shell once again..... Still has a little orange peal in the clear, but not near as much as the last time..... Here's the repaired spot..... Here it is after base coat..... and here it is after clear.....
Well, it's a little difficult to tell the difference in the pic's but it it actually much better then it was the first time..... I sure hope so, I'll wet sand next weekend and we shall see for sure.....
That is a really nice color . I am following this thread admiring all of your ideas and workmanship along the way. It inspires me to want to get to work on both of my project cars !
New paint is definately nice..... Thanks, sounds like it's time for you to step away from the computer then walk across the driveway and get to work..... Thanks..... Thanks you.....
Looks like crap! You should have gone with the single stage solid blue!!! Looks as awesome as I expected.
