Just got the car back over to the pole barn. I also got a few more parts, a voodoo cam and lifters, a front and rear sway bar kit, 3.55 gear, and some paint. Waiting to see what torque converter I need.

Got the motor and trans pulled out of the car this weekend. Looks like I be rebuliding the trans, just a little to sparkle in the pan. Also started stripping the paint in the engine bay, got the voo doo cam in, and thats about it so far. O also got another parts list going. cant wait to have this done.

Okay, this is what i have got done so for: motor and trans pulled out, motor and engine bay striped and repainted, put new oil pan-cam-valve springs-valve covers-distributor-disty hold down-harmonic balancer-and painted ford dark blue on the motor. In the engine bay its got a new ignition box, coil,16" electric fan, trans cooler, battery cables, master cylinder cover, cleaned and painted hood hinges, horn, and shock tower braces and painted the engine bay with extreme chassis black from eastwood. I also have installed a bigger front sway bar and also a rear sway bar. Also got the headers sand blasted and sprayed with vht black paint. Still to go is get my pulleys and intake back from power coating and reassemble the motor, replace the battery tray, rebuild the transmission, paint and body work, front bucket seats reupholstered, and replace the trunk drop downs. There is probably more i have done and still have to do but thats all i can think of at the moment. Thanks for looking.

What a great time this have been getting my mav done. Here is what i went threw. lifter tick would not go away so i bought another set of lifters. Still did it with the new ones. So we did some grinding and bingo there goes the lifter tick. one problem down. Next was the trans. Got it tore apart and rebulit. put it in the car no thrid. toke out the vavle boby, cleand things up some more put it back in. still know thrid. tore out the trans we had put one part in backwards in the trans. haha nice. looked at the vavle body again and this time things where jammed in good. so replaced it with my sister vavle body from her 68 mustang that we are restoring. now trans works great. another problem down. Now lets move on to the oil pressure. I had 5 lbs. took out the oil pump and it was all tore up. so we took the chance and just replaced the pump. Drove it 15 miles and spun a bearing. took the motor back out. The crank was all scratch to crap, all the bearings where shot. but the pistons, rods and walls where still really good. got all that replaced and the motor back in. And now it is running great can wait to go on the power tour. We are picking it up in Indy.

I have heard that some Maverick owners love their cars so much that they sleep with the parts. Now I believe it. :rofl2:
