Gonna run the pipes back to about the rear axle, I've just never really liked pipes ran out the back of anything
So I was out driving my car last night, at a 50mph cruise I heard the lifters get a little louder, and the back light not working on my gauges yet I flicked on the interior light to see the oil pressure at Zero, so I immediately killed the engine and coasted into a pull off. So now comes the fun part of diagnosing the problem on my brand new engine, already pulled the distributor to see nothing out of the ordinary, maybe god willing it wasn't something awful and it didn't eat the bearings.
Well I found it, I know everyone was waiting on edge about it, so here it is oil galley plug & I found what happen to it happy and pissed all at the same time cause I paid to have it put in
I would but I think its too big of chance of getting metal in the oil galley, I'm gonna put another expansion plug in with red or green Loctite & stake it & stake the others. I went & talked to the machine shop that did the work showed him the pictures & he gave me my $150 back for the stuff he did, I wasn't a about it but was straight up, told him that it was over a year ago & I just got the engine going 2 weeks ago. He told his account lady to write me a check for it & said in 30 years of doing engines he had never seen that. but also said any other damage was my problem & I agreed
Got the car to run a 10.83 in a 1000ft at our local drag strip this weekend, not bad for 40yrd old rear suspension. I was definitely having problem hooking though lol best 60ft time was 1.98
So it seems that every one is trying to destroy my car for me first the engine now, This guy in a Pete "driving" so he called it , was pulling a 53ft trailer threw my work parking lot caught the back end of my car with the back of his trailer and drug it about 15ft before me yelling and hollering got him to stop anybody got an extra quarter panel lol or know where to buy a new one?
Wow been awhile since I updated my build, got paint on her yesterday, now's time to put her back together.
NICE!!!!! Great color, good documentation also... Now I know what I am going to be going through when I take mine apart to make sure it is all solid....
Nice work! You modified the CPP suspension to fit the Maverick chassis? 1.)You going coil over setup? 2.)Those A-arms have no provisions for zerks/lubrication? 3.) Strut rods no longer needed -- How is alignment accomplished? Following this setup w/ much interest.
