My 73 Maverick

    i just tested it out. had top hole on the cam on the top hole of the bracket, i moved it to the second hole, and used the middle hole on the cam.

    slight stumble at 1100 but where it would load up part throttle around 2k cruising it doesn't do that anymore. it leaves a little bit better but its still out of its powerband. was happy with how it ran before and just can't believe little things like that can make such a difference.

    i know with my predator carb some people do custom grind cams, i'll see if people do that with holleys and see how it changes.

    Thats good if it improved. Predators are a completely different animal and the cams do different things. I dont know about ant custom cams for holleys but there are some aftermarket ones around that work pretty good. What is your total timing and what is your timing at the rpm you are staging?

    i set the timing for 10 degrees btdc

    my best runs were leaving off idle footbraking it still doesn't really make any kind of difference.

    total timing i'm not sure on. how would i figure that out?

    You would neede to bring it up to about 3k and check the total timing ill bet 10 initial is way low. I've ran most of my sbf's at 32-36 total

    Timing tape or dial back timing light.
