Your work looks very professional. I personally like the stance of the car. Header ground clearance may be an issue depending on the pipes you plan to run.

i love the stance of this car! it looks to probably be a little bit lower than mine, the only issue I've had is scraping my long tube headers once in a while. that's why i only have me and one other person in the car at a time.

If u have/will have long tube headers, will have to take care navigating speed humps, low drive entrances and the like. If you don't have any\many of those, most likely will not have a problem. Your car is much lower than mine use to be and I scraped all those things. I was vry careful after I bent collector flange and still have slight exhaust leak at the flange.
I like the way the car stands, visually, but concerned abt issues mentioned. I wound-up replacing front springs to have peace of mind.

There are no headers planned in the near future. I'm thinking about installing adjustable coil shims just in case. Thank you all for the input. 22 thank you for the compliments.

I didn't think they made spring shims anymore. I recall we use to use shims/spacers many years ago when finances, knowledge and mechanical skills dictated using them. I don't know if we're talking abt the same thing. I wud not put anything in coils as they will change/alter the way the spring is suppose to work.

Love the work you are doing - most of my own stuff was also built by hand - I also plan to use a Watts Linkage in the rear using a 4 link and coil overs :thumbs2::thumbs2:

Mojo I think were talking about different things. These are like adjustable upper perches.

OK so the pt cruiser part won't work it has too much offset and hits the rear end.

I found some 11in Harley shocks for mockup IMG_20141125_185746902.jpg IMG_20141125_185559532.jpg
I also built the new watts link from 1x2 rectangle pipe and an old shock eyelet will post pictures later.

the coil over bolts are in single sheer. they will most likely bend and break. you should build them in a double sheer configuration.

I started to reply the same way you did until I looked up and saw your response LOL!

Back when I built stock cars I always built shock mounts, 3 links, panhard bars etc, in double sheer and that is the way I continued on the 4 coil overs in my Maverick - that stud breaks and you're dead in the water

its a sure thing on it bending in single sheer and most likely will brake and your car will just fall down and drag to a stop.
