my ticket reads this was my first run at the track reaction . .953 i-1 . 2.582 i-2 . 6.645 i-3 . 10.121 MPH i-3 . 71 i-4 . 13.143 ET 15.692 mph 90 and yes i did beat the guy next to me in his 2000 or so acura he ran 17.2
my 72 has stock bottom end with a flat tappet cam, parker funnel web intake, and 3400 stall and 4.10gears. it runs 8.20 to 8.40 depending on weather and runs low 7s on 100 shot of the good stuff. you can go to yahoo and search 1/8th mile to 1/4 mile conversion charts and it will help you get an idea of the 1/4 mile times.
Yeppy, he's dang near got a 14 second car if he could shave that 60' down to the 1.8-1.9 range (not hard)...
it's because i have a t-5 trans and a 3.00-1 rear end with 275/60R17 and i snaped the rear end the first time i went to the track and then the second time i went (2 weeks later) i snaped the other one on the 6'th pass // and i am not even leaving good one of the race vids [nomedia]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9G9MtFFFL8[/nomedia]
Ditto. Difficult to recommend a setup when we don't know what you have. From your original plan, I'd ditch the B303 cam and go with a TFS Stage 1 grind. If you plan on using E7 heads then bowl work and runner porting is going to really help. You might also look into a set of stock replacement style 1.84" intake and 1.54" exhaust valves. These are GT40 type valves that can be bought for less than $100 total. Really helps the breathing. A good dual plane like the Weiand Stealth or Edelbrock RPM Air Gap should be a requirement as well. Unless you get rowdy with the combo and go up on the cam and get a Parker Funnel Web intake.
I ended up going a completely differnet route. I am getting my 351w block back from the machine shop. It will have flattop pistons, c9 heads, and a good size cam. I saw jayss10 on heres combo and it runs what I want mine to
