    Other than the rust that was covered here, I had to cut that whole lower quarter out of another car, including the lip over the wheel opening. It sucks using used sheet metal. Its 4 times the work. Once the part was cut out, you have to separate all the pieces, do a little repair on them, then weld them in. This picture is what I had to replace on that side. For the passenger side I had to make 3 small patches on the outer skin, and one on the trunk drop.

    That's not bad at all. Very minor compared to some of the cars I have restored over the years. Definitely doing a good job on it. (y)

    This thread is only 3 months old and is a baby compared to some of the ones that are 4 or 5 years old and get resurrected.

    Wow!!! I cant believe its been almost a year since I last worked on this car. Anyway, finally got some motivation to do some more work. After my big score of nos parts earlier this year, I dont have to patch up the quarters. I have full nos quarters to work with. Got the passenger side all cut off and rust treated.

    New panel trimmed and test fitted. I not going to weld it on today because we have a spot welder at work. I want to bring it home and see what areas I can use it on as opposed to drilling holes and plug welding.

    I also put a block in the machine shop and got it prepped for my engine build. ONly problem now is my next 4 weekends are spoken for. I will try to get some stuff done during the week.

    You wouldn't happen to have the front part of a right side rocker panel laying around?
