No. The car is now buried in my new garage and inaccessible. Hopefully in another month or two I will have he garage straightened out and be able to work on cars again. Moving sucks although I'm glad to be retired and living in FL now.

    Hi Dennis:
I'd opt to lose the vents .. Why clutter up the lower cowl area again ? We've removed the vents from seven cars
so far and then installed a Vintage AC which was designed for a full size Chevy under the dash without any problem.
It gets so cold inside these cars you could "hang meat " ( kidding) I think it ' cleans up' the upper cowl area too ! Just my opinion .

I have started working on the Comet again. Got all my garages straight and my 57 wagon is done so no more excuses. Made an export brace. Got the drivers door, hinges, and fender stripped, primed, and hung back on the car. Had to make a few repairs on the door. The window stop bracket was rusted out on the bottom even though the door was fine. Cut it out and welded in a non rusted out bracket. (Thanks Craig) The bolt in the front edge of the door which holds the lower window channel had stress cracked the sheet metal around the washer so the channel was moving around freely. Filled the antenna hole on the right fender. Just need to strip and prime the right fender, hinges, door, and hood. Then the part I absolutely hate, begins. I also have to do something about the spoiler. Always wanted to blend it in rather than looking like a bolt on piece. Might go with Derrick's one piece trunk lid after looking at Glenn's progress.

Cant say Chip. But if I do I will definitely bring it. It's taken 9 years to get to this point so I wouldn't bet any money on it.

OK, looking for opinions. I want to integrate the spoiler and make it a little taller. A metal worker I am not. Derrick's set up is $800 plus shipping. I dont believe its much taller, if any, than the stock spoiler. Plus He doesn't answer emails worth a darn. Eastwood has their bench top english wheel for $400. Has any novice used an english wheel with decent results? Or does anyone in FL have one they would loan/rent out? This would probably be the only project I would use one on so I really hate to buy one.

Contact Mark Gustavson (MCCI Utah State Rep). He might be able to give you some ideas as he does (or has done for him) lots of customization as you can see from his newsletter articles.

Finished my spoiler mod. I started out by cutting out a piece of 18g a sheet metal about 1/4" wider than the spoiler and about 6" tall. Then laid the spoiler on it and traced the arch on the top edge. Then I took 3/8" round steel and and bent it to match the arch. Then welded it to the flat stock. At this point I was thinking of bonding this assembly to the back side of the stock spoiler.
