Once it is mounted up, there is plenty of room under there. I still need to make a front support but that will be easy.
You can see in this picture it fits perfectly behind a non-ac package tray. It still has about 1 1/2" between the tray and the box.
I'm using a factory air dash so I can have the center register. You can also see this unit does not hang down near as far as the factory unit.
Nice work. Looks great! Not only is it much smaller, but it will probably work better than the stock AC box as well.
I have a ac package tray with the registers on each end. I will use those but mount them on a standard package tray. It will look like a factory air car when I'm done. Yes, that box has heat and air.
Thanks for posting the AC pic. This is what I basically have in mind for mine. Seeing that you had to smooth the firewall has made me re-think the order that I attack all of this.
Dennis, that is an AWESOME look at the fit of that box. Thanks for sgaring that. I was thinking of deleting the fresh air on both sides, I guess it could be moved towards the right some but don't know if that would gain anything. How much was this kit?
