My "new"72 Mav bracket project

    The bulkhead fitting that I already have has the flat nylon washers where one goes on the outside and one on the inside of the cell -They are smooth while the cell is textured and that is why I thought they may not seal

    Bob I am not 100 percent sure but if you check the inside of your cell I think you will find that it is very smooth. The washers on the inside should make a good seal regardless of the texture of the outside I would think. If still in doubt , it may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer for their recommendations

    Bob,I have a RCI fuel cell like paul's and both baulk head fittings leaked on me, so I put a steel washer behind the nylon and it puts even pressure on it. I have no more leaks. PS it is smooth on the inside and rough on out side. I hope this helps

    I'll take everyone's suggestions into consideration, cap the fitting and throw a couple of gallons of gas in the cell and see what happens - maybe take the cell outside and keep a bucket handy :idea:
