I got word from Bryant that we fixed the last problem we had, it's working! I'll post more details later. Gonna go pick up the car tomorrow. oh man, I can't wait.

i just test drove mo's car. it feels great. right now it has 3.25 gears in the rear and its really responcive. i will let mo drive it for a while to see if he likes the gearing or if we need to change it. the install is really nice. it was simple to modify the crossmember. we ended up having to trim a little of the support that goes over the tunnel. the driveshaft fit right in with no problems. the hardest part was bleeding the hydrolic clutch. ended up having to bleed the mastercylinder with the outlet pointed up so no air bubble will get caught in the top of it. now just waiting for mo to come and pick it up.

I am really not used to manual cars and been stalling it plenty of times at the light but here is my impression. I love having a manual, it's easier to learn than I thought. 2nd gear does grind a little. Still figuring out when to shift. 5th gear is amazing. I'm at 2000 rpm going 73 mph. I used to be at 3200 rpm going 75mph.
There is a lot of noise coming from the tranny which is probably due to the fact that I have a hole where the shifter stick out through the tunnel. It's definitely not as quiet as the automatic. Looks like Bryant and I are going to be rebuilding the T5 since he thinks the servos are bad. The hydraulic clutch feels great. Responsive and smooth all the way through.

Glad ur making progress on the conversion. I think once u rebuild the T5 it will eliminate most of ur issues, except the hole in the floor "heat, exhaust and noise". The last manual I had was 4 spd. toploader, I think the manuals are just inherently noiser than the automatics; at least they were back in the day.
I like the manual boxes but at this point in my life I don't know if I wud be up to the challenge. Anyway, thumbs-up on the conversion :thumbs2:

T5's seem to be noisy by nature. Every T5 I've driven made noise, usually a whining or swishing sound depending on gear.

ok that's good to know, swishing and whining is what I'm getting and it doesn't bother me much.
