Your clutch disc must not be aligned. Helps, too, to use threaded dowels (7/16 bolts with the heads cut off) in the two upper block / bellhousing holes to make sure the bell and tranny are going on straight.

The distance between the T5's output shaft and mounting pad are the same as other Ford small block trannys so using the stock crossmember as a guide will give you the correct angle.

Hold up wait a minute. UNBOLT THE TRANS FROM THE BELLHOUSING !

Install the clutch - pressure plate and bellhousing first. Dont forget the clutch fork.

    THEN install the T-5

easiest way ;) thats how i use to change my trans out in my fox body when we blew them up every month...i always left the bell housing on the motor and just took the trans out...got so good that i could change them out on my back on the ground in about 45 mins start to finish :)

We would be on the same page there, i combined, clutch pedel and quadrant from a stang/ brake pedel Mav. I had to notch a bit off of the wiper motor mount so the quadrant had the clearence it needed, but the set up has worked perfect for over 10 years, i was very hard on it the last time it was on the road.
