ok, i heard alot about how much better disc brakes are from certain people. but i've driven my dads fairlane ( w/ 4 wheel drums ) and it stops better at high speeds than anything i've ever drove with discs. but with the couple of test runs i have made on my comet i have notice it is not anything close to pop's ride. so i want to go to discs to atleast get close to his braking performace. i was looking through a TRW suspension catalog today and they do not sell spindles for a mav.(dont even know why i looked) and ive heard that granada spindles work. is this true? ive also heard that 75 and up mavs and coms can have them. does anyone have a set for sale? or know who does? thanks for any help you can give me.
Yep, Maverick disc brake spindles are the same as the Granada. You are correct, most 75s and all 76-77 came with disc brakes.
so there is no company that sells spindle for mavs? you just have to hunt them down in a junk yard and ebay?
