Not trying to be smart (for once), I don't get what you are asking when you say "cub it" and it showing "through the black".

If you are talking about the paint chipping off the front rims as tires are applied and other use and abuse...I am keeping a couple cans of the paint to the side (it is the 99-cent paint from walmart) and it is white underneath, so it won't show too badly anyway.

One of my favorite looks, is the Black Steell Rims with Long Chrome Lugs, with White letter Tires, I voted black since they woud be mismatched, black hides that bettter yeah I know the decision was made already.. but just thought I would chime in.

Decision isn't permanent. I can always paint black over all 4 rims if I don't like the way they look.

But, I am glad I polished them up first, just to see what they look like.

Polish first you might be surprised. you can paint them anytime If you dont like what you see. You can make any set of wheels match with a spray can.

Haha this is kinda funny, your doing the oppisite as me.First pic is how it is driven on the street, second is how it is at the track and third is another option.Cragars in the front with black rims in the back is how alot of old race cars were run.

Under the silver paint is a thick white paint. Even hitting the white with acetone I cannot get through it. It is almost like powdercoat...

So, if I scratch it, white will show through, which won't look as bad as black. Then touchup paint:D

those rims are powder coated.. you wont wipe the paint off.. sand blast is pretty much the only way.. unless you sand it off.. but that would be a BI ... yeah you get it

I left the white on thinking it would prevent it from ever rusting. As I wiped acetone over the top, it got tacky to the rag, so I figured I was at least breaking the glossy surface enough that paint would stick. If it doesn't...well they will still hold wheels...Then they would be multi-colored and match my car:D

These are 15X6. I couldn't get any thinner without buying a "drag" wheel, which was more than I want to spend for a 3-weekend-a-year habit.

They should fit 185s fine, which will give me a fairly narrow tire but still good traction and braking...

    15x6 should fit a 195 or 205

i have 14x7 and i have 205 70 14 tires on them and the tires are a little too small for the 7" wide rim

14x5.5 is what i had on there... and that rim calls for a 175-185 tire

Yeah, the calculators are showing 195/65 as the narrowest tire for a 15" rim...

But, that gives me the 25" height I need to clear my headers...
