So you have already had the head TOTALLY gone through. Valves, guides, etc?

Yeah they looked through everything. They said it wouldn't hurt to replace them but I don't thing they would have let me have it back if it was in bad condition.

Also check classic inlines dyno room. They may have ran the numbers on a mustang or something

that sounds right to me ha. I didn't think they were net. You have a 200 right? Are you going to mess with the exhaust at all? And is yours a later style head, or is that 77 and up

Glad your sticking with the 6. We have put a lot of the parts from Classic Inlines on my son's 74 250. Good stuff and they stand behind what they sell.

As my son drives this car to work (for me) and to college we were looking for reliability and fuel economy. The original carb had been replaced with the wrong unit and ran poorly. We swapped out to a Weber carb. That combined with the electronic ignition and some tuning and we are at 26 mpg. Still more to do, but the car runs great for now.

Hearing all this makes me feel better about my choice. I have the Weber carb now. Hopefully a dsii soon. And ill keep.looking for a late model head to rebuild on the side. have any of you thought about trying classic inlines header? Or not enough power to justify that route?

That is the long term plan. The next step is to figure out the A/C for the car. We will do the header/exhaust at that time. Also planning on adding power disc brakes so our clean uncluttered engine compartment will soon be fairly crowded.

I haven't heard one so I've been going back and forth on that. I know I want a turbo muffler at least. And doesn't the header help it breathe better or is the stock manifold plenty for that engine?

Would that have to be a non turbo muffler or would that not matter
