Well, it finally stopped raining. So I drove the Exploder, to it`s doom...I started taking some parts off, that are worth re selling...I bet I would have had the entire front end off a Maverick by now...new cars (newer) suck to work on, I feel for you guys that do this everyday!

Took a couple of months, but I finally got everything off the Explorer I wanted. 5.0L with GT40 heads, 8.8 3.73:1 traction lock rearend, loads of other stuff. To top it all off, I got $311.00 for the rest of it at the scrap yard!! (y)

P.S. My wife is happy it's out of the yard :D

Wow, I really lucked out with my cowl and pans after looking at those. I'm just starting to see how much of a problem that can be. Best of luck!

Well, it's been awhile, but it's been way to hot to even spend 1/2 a hour in the garage. For some reason I felt the urge to do a little tweaking on one of the pieces I made to replace the floor pan, it's not done yet, but it's close. Maybe I can get this side welded up this weekend...

    Great looking fit Dave!

I feel the same way...it's been awhile for me...and I'm still waiting on my seat covers to come back...don't want to update my thread until so....

...And I can't wait for the fall months to be able to do more...with the heat gone!

Is this going to end up being White with Orange Grabber stripes?

This car was Brown with White stripes, so I don't feel bad changing the color, to Black.
My Orange & White 74 Grabber is sitting behind it, waiting it's turn.

It'll be worth the wait. I've seen a few 73 Orange & White Grabbers, but no other 74's.

Here's the other piece, cut and fit. Since the Mustang pans have the ribs in different places, and they are a wider car than a Maverick, I centered it up, re-bent the side lip, and fit it to closer match what was factory. If I can get home in good time tomorrow, I may tack it in.

I'm not 100% happy, so a little more trimming and tapping...and it should be fine.

    Lookin' good Dave.

Wish I had done my passenger side this way ... would have been less work ... live and learn. :thumbs2:
